Sparked by Dan Nichols & Eighteen's “We Are From the Garden” and an I-am-From poem called “I am From Tunafish Sandwiches” EarthSONG Troubadour Lois Fein and Friends created their own version called “We Are From Bananas.” Starting with Dan Nichols & Eighteen's opening verse and melody, the song then rides Nichols & Eighteen's joyful melody with some original lyrics composed by Lois and Friends.
The “La-la-la s” at the end of this rendition are there as a place-holder – an invitation for YOU to compose lyrics of your own as a family, individual, or community.
“We Are From Bananas” is the fifth video of EarthSONG Singalong - a virtual, intergenerational song circle fostering creativity, community, love of the Earth, music, movement, storytelling, song, and other expressive arts.
